What's so special about "Smart Tank"?

What is a "smart tank"? And what's so special about this "smart tank"?

Smart tank is labelled so, is because of the extra features such as built in timer, auto feeder, heater, UV, or skimmer where those normal tank set does not provide. Normal aquariums requires add-on of other accessories, some traditional sets come with built in filter and light only. However, smart tank comes with much more functions that make fishkeeping so easy and convenient.

There are different brands of smart tank nowadays. Most of the smart tank can preset the time for feeding and lighting which ease you from daily fish keeping. Some of the higher end smart tank even come with built in UV, heater and skimmer where you don’t have to purchase it separately. Smart tank also give off a tidier view where all those aquarium equipment that needed for fish keeping was built in inside the tank.

Having said so, the downside of using a smart tank is its inability to change or upgrade the built-in features, unlike normal aquarium with separated equipment which you can purchase based on your needs.

Smart tank means no need to do water change?

NOOOOOOO!!!! No matter what kind of aquarium you use, water change is a must to ensure a safe and healthy environment for the live stocks in it. With smart tank, it saves you the time and effort to setup and do daily maintenance. However, it does not mean that you don't have to change water. In fact, the best practice is to do partial water change (30-50%) weekly depending on the conditions of each tank, e.g. how strong is the filter, how many fish you have, how often do you feed the fish etc.
